Rutile sand is a mineral source known for its high titanium dioxide (TiO2) content, used as an important raw material in the welding electrode, glass, ceramics, and metallurgy industries. Rutile is used in electrode coating.
Due to its high titanium dioxide (TiO₂) content, it stabilizes the weld pool formed during welding, enhances the fluidity of the weld metal, and provides a smooth surface to the weld joint. Additionally, titanium dioxide forms a protective slag layer during welding.
